Display this manger box with fabric-swaddled body form" and crinkle-strip hay to reinforce the religious message of Christmas. Scaled to pair with "Believe 3d Letter Blocks" and "Star on Stick" for a nativity ensemble. (See the project ensemble in the tutorial noted below.) Manger measures approx. 3.75" tall x 3" long x 2.5" deep. Main manger body includes end 'X' supports with inside walls that attach to form trough and outside walls that fold over to cover tab seam. Trio of wood "slats" with nail holes decorate outside walls. Reinforcing end 'X' fold double (fold is bottom) to attach on front and back of manger main shape ends, which is then folded down and attached in place. Accent 'X' shapes with nail holes and implied hex trough bottom bolt. Cut multi-strip hay from lighter weight paper stock, crinkle, and place inside trough. Build the baby open-back head form, torso tube, then fit and glue together. Use the fabric swaddle template to cut; use dashed guideline to fold top corner, insert baby form, wrap bias fold down and inward, bottom up, sides in. Adjust, then finish with fabric glue. Complete accordion-folded halo rosette by joining two strips, forcing center (straight edge) to center, securing in place with hot glue and circle covers front and back. Place and attach babe in manger. Attach halo to manger above head or to head form.
